Pitru Paksha: Full Moon Ancestral Water Healing Ritual

Saturday, September 30, 5:00 – 7:00pm
MĀ Wellness & Yoga (Sky Studio), Victoria, BC

Join Satya during the annual “fortnight to the ancestors” known as Pitru Paksha in her ancestral land of India. It is the 16-day lunar period (from full moon to new moon) in the Vedic/Yogic tradition, when we pay homage to our ancestors by making offerings and prayers in ceremony. We will gather around our co-creative ancestral altar to bring peace and healing to our lines, as well as create an opening to receive blessings from our ancestors.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to all the previous generations of those who have contributed to our life – to who and what we are today.

We would not be where we are today without our ancestors. It’s time to give back. The power of this work is in simply showing up for it, trusting the ritual journey, and being open to receiving.

We will utilize this auspicious time to not only help heal our lineages, but also to honour and express gratitude for the blessings our revered ancestors have gifted us. For those who feel disconnected from their ancestors or don’t know much about them, this is an opportunity to begin forming a connection. It’s a powerful time to listen carefully for wisdom and guidance from the spirit world.

Participants will create a simple and personalized ancestral altar – which will serve as parts of a larger, co-creative sacred ancestral mandala. We will chant ancestral mantras, make offerings and prayers – and commune with the elements, the Divine, and our ancestors.

*Important pre-ritual instructions will be sent to you before we gather to help prepare for our sacred space.

Some Background on Ancestral Water Healing Ritual

Our very DNA has been imprinted by previous generations. The science of epigenetics is confirming what mystics and healers have long known: whatever our ancestors experienced, we are experiencing it now — whether we are aware of it or not. In addition to the gifts bestowed by this ancestral influence, blockages can also be present in our system, and in our life. This water healing ritual supports the release of these blockages, in order to facilitate healing for ourselves, as well as the healing of our family members and our ancestral lines.

Participation in ritual will most definitely affect healing and connection of your lineage – while also releasing attachments and encumbrances, that require letting go of in a safe, held, sacred space.
