OCT. 5 ~ New Moon Navratri Fire Ceremony: Honouring the Sacred Divine Feminine

Navratri – the nine nights dedicated to the Sacred Divine Feminine – is one of the most powerful festivals in Satya’s ancestral land of India. It symbolizes the triumph of light over dark, love over fear, unity over separation – and celebrates and honours the Sacred Divine Feminine, in all her names and forms. It is also an opportunity to express our gratitude to the Goddess form.

The first three days of this nine-day festival are dedicated to Goddess Durgā, the warrior goddess that Satya’s maternal line has been devoted to since time immemorial. We will invoke Goddess Durgā in this ceremony, and be open to receiving her gifts and blessings.

Durgā is the Universal Mother; a fiercely compassionate warrior of unconditional love. She is the force of power, protection, courage, strength, and fearlessness in ourselves, and the world around us. She supports us to cut through illusions, move through our inner and outer struggles, and restore harmony and balance within ourselves, and in the world.

Durgā tunes us into her gifts, and also help us to become aware of her shadow side in us, supporting us to confront our inner battles that may include self-limiting beliefs, blind spots and self sabotage. She also helps us remove obstacles that prevent us from accessing our deepest power, and encourage its flow.

Navratri is a most auspicious Shakti time when the Goddess’s presence is especially powerful. The veil between the worlds is very thin; She is listening for our intentions and prayers, waiting to support us in bringing them to life. It is a time of prayer, ritual, practice, honouring, and celebration. You will also hear stories about Navratri and Durga Mā. We will engage in mudra (sacred seals) and yantra (sacred geometry) to enhance our practice.

YOUR FACILITATOR

Satya Amrita Kumari Jehman (Vedic Priestess Temple)

Born into the Vedic lineage, Satya has been living the traditional path of yoga all her life – with a more concentrated practice over the last 22 years. She carries the gift of ceremony and ritual by the grace of her ancestors. She apprenticed in India over two winters, inheriting the ceremony when her mother suddenly left her body. Her mother’s death was her fire initiation, and her mother’s body was her first offering into the fire of wisdom. Most recently, she offered her father’s body into the fire of wisdom, which has only deepened her intention behind this offering from her ancestors and lineage. She humbly accepts the deep honour and responsibility to carry this lineage ritual forward, for the greater good of the Whole.

Satya has completed a year-long Yoga Apprenticeship in 2015 (Vijnana Yoga RYT200), and a deep dive study into jnana yoga (Vedic scripture study/self inquiry) with her teacher in India amid a trio of winters from 2011-2013. While there in 2016, Satya was initiated into the Sidh Kunjika Stotram – the highest call to Maha Shakti (Divine Mother). She has been furthering her yogic studies in India with regular trips there for the past 15 years. She most recently completed a three-month study and practice in Ancestral Water Healing Ritual with Akhanda Yoga (Yogirishhi Vishvktu) of Rishikesh, India. She also offers this form of ritual. Please inquire if you’re interested.

Satya leads ceremony and ritual for healing, renewal, union, rites of passage, and other occasions as requested. These are conducted both with groups and in private sessions.

Encouraged by her teachers, Satya is a facilitator of Retreats, Workshops, Ceremony, Ritual  & One-on-One Guide on Salt Spring Island and surrounding communities, in India – as well as online. Satya offers from the deepest place in her with utmost respect and reverence to her ancestors, to You, to the Divine, and to the Self.
