MAY 28: Activating Abundance: A Lakshmi Day Retreat

We are pleased to invite you to join us for a full day yoga retreat on the traditional territory of the Hul’q’umi’num’ and SENĆOŦEN (Coast Salish) speaking peoples.

Amid the peaceful and inspired setting of Stowel Lake Farm, Salt Spring Island, we will explore and discover ancient yogic practices from India to invoke Goddess Lakshmi’s blessings.

Join Satya (Vedic Priestess Temple) and Hanna (Hanna Munneke Yoga) for a day of practice, contemplation, workshop, storytelling and ceremony. We will learn ancient traditional practices that tune us into Lakshmi’s blessings of Abundance, Prosperity, Grace, Generosity, Unconditional Love, and Inner Beauty – and build a toolkit to help remove the obstacles which get in the way of our own flow of internal abundance.

Stowel Lake Farm is surrounded by blossoming gardens and grounds, with two lakes nearby for an optional swim in the evening. A delicious Indian lunch will be served by Omja Catering.

YOUR FACILITATORS

Satya Amrita Kumari Jehman (Vedic Priestess Temple)

Born into the Vedic lineage, Satya has been living the traditional path of yoga all her life – with a more concentrated practice over the last 20 years. She comes from a line of Durga (mother of Lakshmi) devotees on her maternal line. Satya carries the gift of fire ceremony and ritual by the grace of her ancestors. She completed a year-long Yoga Apprenticeship in 2015 (Vijnana Yoga RYT200), and a deep dive study into jnana yoga (Vedic scripture study/self inquiry) with her teacher in India amid a trio of winters, over a decade ago. Satya offers from the deepest place in her with utmost respect and reverence to her ancestors, to You, to the Divine, and to the Self (Pure Awareness) – for the greater good of the Whole.

Hanna Munneke (Hanna Munneke Yoga)

Hanna Munneke fell in love with yoga as a young mother. Practice became her centre point amidst the beautiful chaos of raising three children. After completing a Yoga Apprenticeship, she was certified as a Vijnana Yoga RYT800. She’s been teaching on Salt Spring Island since 2015, and has recently taught on the Caribbean island of Grenada. “I love how yoga creates space in the body and mind, helping our vitality and wisdom to flow…I love how yoga is a process, and an inquiry that each of us can experience uniquely.” – Hanna

Expect to build strength and softness in her offerings, while exploring the principles of quiet mind, relaxed body, breathing, rooting, connection, expansion and intent. All of her offerings start with a short meditation and pranayama (breath work).

YOUR CHEF

Naomi Singh (Omja Catering)

Prior to moving to Salt Spring Island in 2008 to begin the journey of motherhood, Naomi worked for global aviation leaders. Both in commercial and military sectors. After the birth of her second daughter Kilaya, she realized she was “not cut out for the stay at home mom thing”. So she entered her first Saturday market, where she sold raw baklava, raw cheese cake, and samosas. Since then Naomi has grown into a successful local caterer and private chef here on Salt Spring.

“The love of food is more than its smell, flavours and colour. It’s the nourishment our bodies get from a meal made with love that nurtures the soul.” – Naomi
